Meet the Team

We are Helena and Cam, the owners of The Drift Sauna. We’re both outdoor enthusiasts and have spent the last few years working as outdoor instructors, living aboard a small sailboat and spending as much time in the sea or mountains as we could. This has led us to be a part of some amazing communities with friendships built, skills shared and a space that has allowed our passions to grow. 

We’re really keen to create a community of similar souls, both by collaborating with likeminded businesses around the Drift and building a calm space amongst a busy world which fosters connection. Having an opportunity to slow down, connect with the north Devon landscape and celebrate nature is all integral to our little sauna.

When we’re not by the sauna you’ll most likely find us climbing on a sea-cliff somewhere nearby!

Our Sauna

The Drift was hand-built by us, made possible by all the love and time that our friends and family have put in. She is inspired by the ocean and the slow, calm, drifting movement of nature that we can see when we slow down; the gentle flow of a stream, the drifting of seaweed on the oceans surface, dandelion seeds blown in the breeze.

The Drift is made from British Cedar with driftwood highlights, found on sunny walks along beaches in North Devon. The stove and the beautiful löyly that comes from it is fueled by offcuts and chippings of the cladding, it is ingrained in the ethos of the Drift to be as low impact and as meaningful as possible.
